Hey all - Ed's article is Today's Featured Article on Wikipedia today and it would be cool to get it on social. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minas_Geraes-class_battleship
Proposed:
Twitter: • Did you know that Brazil's Minas Geraes-class battleship started a naval arms race in South America? [link]
Facebook: • São Paulo, the second of two Minas Geraes-class battleships, went missing without trace in a 1951 storm. The wreck has never been found. [link]

Do you want to start with "Did you know" here? Honestly not sure which is better :) LGTM either way.
I think that "BIAS! BIAS! PLAYING FAVORITES!" is a good attention-getting lead-in for Twitter. Failing that, "São Paulo, the second of two Minas Geraes-class battleships, went missing without trace in a 1951 storm. The wreck has never been found." is a close second.

"without *a *trace" :-)
You could add "expensive" to the Twitter proposal ("started an expensive naval arms race"). At one point, the race took up about a quarter of Argentina's national budget.

To be fair Argentina spending lots of money on things for national pride is ... not particularly newsworthy ;)

"Without trace" also works! And that doesn't fit on Twitter :( Already had to cut letters off my proposal!

"Without a trace" is the normal phrasing—compare the two on Google. :-p
No worries on the expensive part. I didn't check to see if that fit in the character limit.
