Nice quote from Cory Doctorow...
@wikimedia, RT by @wikipedia: "Is there any other organization that does more to preserve the original, amazing spirit of the Internet?" http://boingboing.net/2014/12/14/charitable-giving-guide.html
FB/G+: "Is there any other organization that does more to preserve the original, amazing spirit of the Internet, the sense that we're all on a shared mission to make the whole world a better place through communication and freedom?" Thank you, Cory Doctorow! http://boingboing.net/2014/12/14/charitable-giving-guide.html
Would suggest rewriting the first or editing to include @cdoctorow's name.

I actually tried, but there are only 10 characters left, not enough for even just including ".@doctorow:". And I don't see a good way to shorten the quote. Other thoughts, also on the FB/G+?

organization -> org ?
that saves 9 chars.

I meant that you don't have to edit it, because the whole quote fits the way I shared it -- But org works too!

I was just thinking if we wanted to save even more. that would help if e.g. if there's a manual retweet (i.e. not through the API, just prefix with "RT"). then they prepend ~15 chars on the beginning and that's too long.
But then even 130 is too long. Anyway, was just an idea :)

OK, just including the handle by itself seemed a bit too minimalist/ambiguous to me, but on reflection that may be better than leaving Cory out completely. And rewording verbatim quotes without indicating the changes is a bit weird, but on Twitter that's probably defensible. So:

I don't see where the handle is ambiguous, it follows the same format as a quotation in prose, and is in keeping with Twitter conventions
"Is there any other organization that does more to preserve the original, amazing spirit of the Internet?" Cory Doctorow
"Is there any other organization that does more to preserve the original, amazing spirit of the Internet?" @doctorow
Anyway, the version posted is fine.

+1 for Katherine’s comment, this is how these kind of tweets are usually written (though maybe with a dash to make clear it’s a quote). Either is fine though!
