I, personally, would not have gone with this, due to the fact that a lot of French government ministries, including the Presidency, have tightened their licencing since the much advertised CC-licencing several months back.
Sincerely, donating to the WMF isn't what makes Wikipedia free, it's the content...and unfortunately the French took one step forward and six steps back in that regard. :(
