Great idea, in principle! But while that tutorial briefly mentions VisualEditor, most of the text seems devoted to explaining syntax for users of the wikitext editor, which nowadays isn't really the first thing that newbies need to devote time to...
How about linking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:The_Wikipedia_Adventure instead? IIRC it places more emphasis on teaching other aspects. (CCing Jake in case he has thoughts on whether TWA could use a little social media attention.)
