Hi Michael and social media team,
At long last, we just published “Love on the Wikis”, our community-created collection of great articles and images about love for Valentine’s Day:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/13/love-on-the-wikis/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/13/love-on-the-wikis/
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this cool curation experiment!
Here are proposed ideas for spreading the word in social media:
Twitter (@wikimedia/@wikipedia):
Love on the wikis: here are our favorite Wikipedia articles and images about love. Happy Valentine’s Day! https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/13/love-on-the-wikis/ #love
Facebook/Google+:
For Valentine's Day, we asked Wikipedians to suggest great wiki articles and images about love. Here's what we found together. Thanks for sharing the love! https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/13/love-on-the-wikis/
Feel free to tweak as needed.
Sorry for being so late in sending this message. We had some issues with videos and audio files that wouldn’t play :(
Thank you all for your help
… and special kudos to Tilman, for helping me figure out some of the intricacies of recalcitrant audio and video files :)
Michael, I hope it’s not too late for you to send out some messages to social media.
And if you have time tomorrow, it would be great if you could plug both this story and the WikiLove story.
Thanks so much, you guys!

Dear Michael,
Thank you sooo much for moving so quickly to get the word out!
If you have any extra time tomorrow, you might like to also promote a couple of the top picks from our ‘Love on the Wikis’ roundup individually, after we have announced the roundup itself.
For example, we could feature the Wikipedia article about Love or about Valentine’s Day, and/or feature Smallbone’s image of Love’s Messenger, citing his moving ‘love letter’ to the Wikipedian collaborator he never met.
Please let us know if we can help propose some copy for any of your upcoming posts: Valentine’s Day is one of those days when people seem very open to sharing the love :)
I hope you enjoyed this little experiment as much as I did, and look forward to a team retrospective at the end of next week, when we’ll have a sense of overall impact.
It was a fun collaboration and I’m grateful to everyone who participated.
Have a wonderful weekend!
