Where can one see these 100 donated images? CCing Richard, who is involved in the event, in case WMNYC is already planning social media outreach for this.

Good point. They don’t seem to be available on Wikimedia Commons just yet — possibly this is part of the editathon.
Good idea also to get Richard’s opinion on this! Should have thought about WMNYC’s own outreach.

Hi Joe and Tilman,
WMNYC is working closely with Guggenheim on both the image donation and the editathon.
I'm going to personally upload the images to Commons in advance of the editathon, probably by this weekend.
Any help with social media would be great, especially getting word out about the editathon and ppl signing up for the eventbrite for that.
Thanks, Richard

Would it be a good idea to avoid mentioning the donation through official channels until then? We might be better simply RTing the original @Guggenheim tweet if that’s the case.

Yes, I think so. It's premature to announce that they are donated already.

Done from @wikipedia . Remarkably, they already had 124 retweets and 141 faves even without our RT.
(as an aside, the painting / artist featured in their tweet is apparently one of those infamous URAA copyright cases: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Robert_Delaunay )

Good point. They don’t seem to be available on Wikimedia Commons just yet — possibly this is part of the editathon.
Good idea also to get Richard’s opinion on this! Should have thought about WMNYC’s own outreach.

Hi Victor,
The current plan is to put photographs of 2d artworks under CC-0 and those of 3d artworks under cc-by-sa.
Thanks, Richard / Pharos
