Not going to lie, this is totally over my head technically — but on the face of it this seems like a big story.
Might be an idea to retweet @wikidata (https://twitter.com/wikidata/status/544937681567117313) or @WikimediaDE (https://twitter.com/WikimediaDE/status/544935659006607360)?

Hi guys,
Here’s another piece of movement news that seems worth spreading in social media:
Google just announced plans to wind down its Freebase service and to transfer the Freebase data in to Wikidata in mid-2015. https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z122wpyxhob0hjoik04cc3vatw2zfv4zszk...
This may sound a bid geeky, but it’s a big deal because it shows wide adoption of our open source structured data format by an industry giant.
t: Goodbye Freebase, hello Wikidata! Kudos to everyone at @wikidata for this great achievement ! https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z122wpyxhob0hjoik04cc3vatw2zfv4zszk...
I tweeted it here, if you want to simply retweet: https://twitter.com/fabriceflorin/status/544958206733086720
This lead comes courtesy of Andrew Lih, who has a very keen eye for important Wikimedia stories :)
Cheers,
Fabrice
