Good evening social media angels,
We just published a blog post about the recent donation of 100,000 medical images to Wikimedia Commons:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/01/20/wellcome-library-donation/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/01/20/wellcome-library-donation/
It’s an uplifting story about all the hard work that Fae and Commons volunteers devote to bring new libraries of rich multimedia content to our knowledge base.
I published the story this evening, so that Fae and Wellcome can promote right it away in the UK, during their daytime hours — I also wanted to get a head start now, since many of us will be tied up tomorrow at the all-staff WMF offsite. :)
Here are some ideas for how to spread the word on social networks:
Twitter (@wikimedia/@wikipedia):
The @WellcomeLibrary donates 100,000 medical history images to @WikiCommons ! (link)
Facebook/Google+
The Wellcome Library donates 100,000 medical images to Wikimedia Commons. The high resolution photographs and scans are used on Wikipedia to illustrate a wide range of topics -- such as disease, art history, cartoons, sexuality and biographies. (link)
Please help us get the word out about this story :)
Thanks!
Fabrice
