So this is a bit US centric since it came to my attention because of an ad
for a new tv show <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucifer_(TV_series)> starting
tomorrow(and some may feel not it's mean to Bowie, though I don't really
think so) but I found the fact about the comic it's based on so
entertaining that I wanted to share given all of the context. Suggested
thoughts:
Writer @neilhimself <https://twitter.com/neilhimself> felt it very
important that his version of Lucifer looked like David Bowie at the time

Monday marks four years (hard to believe) since the PIPA protests. Should
we post the attached photo with the straight-forward verbiage:
Facebook:
On this day in 2012, English-language Wikipedia sites joined other Internet
sites in protesting the PIPA and SOPA legislation by staging a "blackout"
of service for 24 hours.

Twitter:

hours to protest PIPA and SOPA legislation.

Welcome your thoughts. It seems to me its an important part of our history,
but I wasn't here. (At Storify we stayed up because many wanted our service
to help chronicle the protests.)

Hey All,
We have been working closely with the International Federation of Library
Associations, to work on Library engagement in the Wikimedia community.
They were really happy to write us a charming birthday card for
#Wikipedia15 (see below). It would be great if you shared :)
Cheers,

Hi all,
After some discussion on phabricator
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T91633>, it was decided to create
http://www.whatcanidoforwikimedia.org/ to help promote public contribution
to the Wikimedia projects.
Obviously, a project such as this needs as much publicity as possible to
get the ball rolling. Would it be possible to have a mention on the
Wikimedia social media outlets?
