Hello all, It seems community discussions like those for AfDs or admin elections have received some attention in the literature recently. Together with Dario Taraborelli and Moritz Stefaner we wanted to get a better perspective on them and tried to visualize them. We just put online today a visualization of the longest AfD discussions on the English Wikipedia.
Check it out: http://notabilia.net

That's a lovely schematic, so reminiscent of Einstein's hairstyle. But you might want to filter out any discussions on April 1st as there are traditionally a few events on that day that don't follow normal protocols. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Earth_%282nd_no... for example, and as long as they don't affect articles and stay in Wikipedia space and userspace they are OK on that day. As a proportion of AFDs they are probably minuscule, as a proportion of the longest AFDs perhaps less so.
