The second edition of the newsletter is underway, with an eye to finalizing draft content by the 17th. Please add yourself to the list of contributors if you are interested in any aspect of its production; we need more people in every department! http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/Team
Please translate the above into other languages and post it on the appropriate project sites (or just post it on meta: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests/NL-2#En )
---- New content : An excerpt from it:Utente:Vala's sociology thesis, reports from last weekend's Dutch convention, a summary of reviews of WP content and MW software.
Interviews: * Brad Fitzpatrick (creator of livejournal) is being interviewed tomorrow; you can see and edit some of the questions I'll be asking him here: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/Interviews#Brad_Fitzpatrick
* Prof. Lawrence Lessig has been on the hook for an interview all month... it may not happen in time for this edition, but you can find a longer list of questions for him on the same page.
Contests: Here's your chance to change the newsletter's name! There is a contest on meta at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/Name -- suggest new names and vote on your favorites.
There is also a cover-design contest, with an aesthetically pleasing prize to be determined. Submit your best sketches, or just ideas! http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/Cover
---- And finally, there will be another Quarto meeting in the coming week, to bring together thoughts on the first newsletter and discuss versions of the next; perhaps Monday or Tuesday next week.

Hi Sj and everyone.
I suddenly realise I have no idea of who is currently registered to this mailing list, so I just put a couple of additional names in the cc field :-)
The time to write the NL is very short. I put some suggestions for content in http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Quarto
In particular, I hope we have some reports of the last new projects created or in creation. Could you Erik do us a summary of last 3 months happening with the Wikinews ? Could someone do as well for Wikicommons ?
Wikimania meeting Could you Elian update us on this in a paragraph ?
Local chapters Could Elian, Ryo and Yann (and perhaps Aurevilly as well) update us on the fr and de chapters ? I still have some pictures to provide from the creation of fr
Rotterdam meeting Could Oscar and/or Gerard have something for us on this ?
Developers meeting in december Tim Starling, could you make a small bit on this topic, to announce it, to introduce topic of discussion ?
Funding Maveric, may you do us a report on the september fundraising ?
Grants Danny, I am sure you will say you are very busy, but an update on the Beck report and a paragraph to explain the wikijunior book (who is working on this, where, which are currently under work...) might be just great. Also, do we have any news of the Pirelli award which could be mentionned as well ?
Buon Natale e felice Anno Nuovo! Gerard, could you contact Sabine on this so that he can write something about it ?
Jimbo and Angela What about telling us all you can think of (and are allowed to) say about the BBC experiment ?
Servers and other tech stuff Tim, could you see that an update is done on this, with help from anyone who can help ?
Jimbo Can you think of a founder letter ?
Ang and I will try to do a board report as well.
There is plenty of room left for other ideas as well, we need more on the major press articles, the news on all projects (much was done on meta, so it should be easier). Is there a major issue on one project you would love to tell us about ? Also, for all projects, please, do not hesitate to use the international section as well.
Sj, I'll work on the board report and probably add to the french creaction as well as Rotterdam meeting. I'll sent probably content by mail only.
Greetings to all.
