Hello,
at the moment Pywikibot has four mailing lists. * pywikipedia-announce – Only two messages this year (one spam, the other one to say sorry.) no last year * pywikipedia-l – This list, very active ;-) * pywikipedia-svn – Not needed anymore because of the move to git. * pywikipedia-bugs – Used to inform users about bugs reported on Sourceforge, after the move to Bugzilla this is not needed anymore, right?
So I propose to close at least pywikipedia-svn and pywikipedia-bugs, maybe also pywikipedia-announce because it is not used.
Regards Pyfisch
-bugs was migrated to bugzilla

As John mentioned, -bugs is already used by bugzilla.
Pywikipedia-svn has been retired in favor of pywikibot-commits. I've explicitly noted this on the mailing list info page [1] and I have blocked new subscriptions.
Pywikipedia-announce should either be used more actively (the git conversion has not even been announced) or it should be retired: people might have the impression they are kept up to date on important changes now, even though they are not.

We could use this more, but we need to have better criteria what to post there

Members were migrated to pywikibot-commits@lists.wikimedia.org and the list is already closed. Just kept for reference.

Bugzilla sends email here.

Huge support! People can set different filters in their mailers and keep this list in front of their eyes. Yes:
- Wandering between version control systems - Breaking changes - Important new features, interesting new scripts - New tutorials - Detailed explanations of why to run an unknown exe that exceed the monitor size - New trends that should be kept in mind by users for planning - Announcing new committers - New threads started by commiters only
Possibly:
- Questions about announcements and short answers without discussion - Default reply-to field set to pywikipedia-l
No:
- Discussions - New questions, support requests, feature requests, helpdesk - The BS saga :-)
Hello
*pywikipedia-svn is already closed and we massively subscribed members of pywikipedia-svn in pywikibot-commits-l *we use pywikipedia-bugs as the same wikibugs-l. this mailing list is the default assignee (in BZ) and with every change the system sends e-mail to the mailing list and subscribes receive e-mail. see this [1] for more information. *we can activate pywikipedia-announce. I think It's a better solution [1]: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52692
