Hi guys,
You probably know by now that the English Wikipedia will be closed tomorrow [1]. Keep an eye on your bots if they're running on the English Wikipedia (don't forget interwiki.py) because you might see some unexpected behaviour or just crashes tomorrow.

As I understand, the blocking will be through Javascript, so the bots will not be affected.
In the case of the Italian blacking, the bot could still get the pages without problems, but all pages were also acting as if locked, so edits were not possible.
Still, I do agree with Maarten that it would be good to check, of course.
block of the Api will be via $wgGroupPermissions. The bots Will ne able to read but not to write.

One thing I noticed is that the bot does not 'see' that it has been unable to edit. This means that the -limittwo and -whenneeded options of interwiki.py are not working correctly at the moment - the bot will edit the home wiki and _think_ it has edited the English wiki. I might be the only one using these, but if not, I advise other uses to switch these options off for a day.
