Initial Comment: For a few days now by bot hasn't been able to change items successfully. The output is similar to: Updating page [[wikidata:Q2848513]] via API Got an unknown error when putting data: No entity found matching ID André Renard (politique)

From my investigations, the changes in https://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/pywikipedia/trunk/pywikipedia/wikipedia.py?... seem to be the problem. Commenting out those lines allow my bot to actually edit, and doesn't bring up that error.
