\------------
I have been working on some additions to the pywikipediabot framework.
I'd be happy if my code could be useful to others.
sync.py helps synchronizing different wikis. It goes through a bunch
of namespaces and creates an overview of pages that are different,
this is already useful for Templates and MediaWiki but especially
useful when dealing with semantic mediawiki, where a lot of the
functionality lives in namespaces such as Property, Type and Form.
linkreports.py creates a page with a table of broken links, first
date, last date and error message.
I also wrote a little PHP frontend that lets people run a
pywikipediabot replace script \(it's for folks who can't or don't want
to use anything on a commandline\). This can probably live on its own
on github, but it might be a bit too custom at this point and I'd like
to have some comments on it.
This PHP frontend is available at https://github.com/guaka/phpfrontforpywikibot
It's pretty rough still but releasing it forces me to think about the
public release when adding more functionality.
I'm not sure how to proceed with getting sync.py and linkreports.py in
the official repo. Shall I just put them up on github so you can take
a look? I'm looking forward to your ideas.

Didn't hear anything back in a week so I just put stuff up here:
https://github.com/guaka/pywikibot-extras
Still needs a bit of work to make it more generic but sync.py could
already be useful as is.

Subject: spellcheck.py — Remember words skipped in a page
Original description:
When you use the spellcheck.py script and use the p switch for a word, it is
ignored for the whole page, indeed. However, when you run the script again on
the same page, you get the word yet again. I think the spellchecker should
remember you want to skip that word on that page.

Original description:
This patch changes the Page.editTime function in order to allow the user to
request a valid editTime even if the page has not yet been fetched. The API
call used is theoretically much lighter than retrieving the whole page. The
default behavior remains unchanged.

Original description:
A new patch to implement toobaz's function with the changes suggested by
wikipedian.
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=1843798&group\_id=93107&at…
\- solve\_disambiguation.py and pagegenerators.py:
1\. Generator and logging function for -primary option moved
from solve\_disambiguation.py to pagegenerators.py
2\. TODO in solve\_disambiguation.py done:
generator now starts yielding before all referring pages have been found
3\. makes use of new TextfilePageGenerator
4\. code is a few lines shorter
\- replace.py:
5\. "-exclude" option from toobaz's patch implemented.
Allows to filter generator through a list of previously edited pages.
New pages are appended to the filter file based on choices made:
-exclude: logs to filter choice "N"
6\. additional command line options for other settings:
-editonce: logs to filter choices "Y", "A"
-treatonce: logs to filter choices "Y", "A", "N"
-scanonce: logs to filter choices "Y", "A", "N"; no change
7\. uses generator and file format from solve\_disambiguation.py
\(suggested by wikipedian below\)
8\. default filter filename is the name of the fix. Files are placed
in a subdirectory "replace".

Subject: Pagegenerator: follow redirects, intersection, exclusion
Original description:
I added three new arguments:
-followredirects
Used with other arguments that specify a set of pages.
If a specified page is a redirect page, work on its
target page.
-intersecting
Argument to be used between two other arguments.
Work only on pages normally specified by both the
previous and the next argument.
-excluding
Argument to be used between two other arguments.
Work only on pages normally specified by the
previous argument but not by the next argument.
For example, one could want to find the pages edited by a specific user that
contain a certain keyword in a title.
A few other suggestions:
Exclude sections, even on files.
Compare pages via the Page.\_\_cmp\_\_ property to exclude duplicate pages
instead of
u"%s:%s:%s" % (page._site.family.name, page._site.lang, page._title).
(more transparent and easier to maintain).

Subject: archivebot.py edit summary i18n improvement
Original description:
The edit summary of archivebot explains how old archived messages are, by using
the configuration string, e.g. 45d or 24h. On request from some users on ro.wp,
I have added a function that interprets these strings in accordance with the
local wiki settings. It uses the MediaWiki:Hours and MediaWiki:Days messages to
obtain the local language string. Since all wikis I tries use the PLURAL parser
function and parser functions are not interpreted in the wiki edit summary, I
parsed the PLURAL function to obtain the actual string. If the PLURAL function
is not supported, then the exact text of the MediaWiki:Hours and MediaWiki:Days
is used \(after replacing $1 with the actual number\). If the MediaWiki:Hours
or MediaWiki:Days messages are not found, then the initial configuration string
is used.
