Dear all,
in the pre-Wikimania days, members of WikiProject Open Access plan to shoot a video around Open Access, Wikimedia and software development linking the two.[1]
For that, it would be nice if someone could lend us a digital-format video camera from August 4-6. Higher quality goes a long way for this, so let's see what's possible. Some photography-oriented DSLRs like some Nikon cameras have a video recording mode and may be easier to find than a video camera of similar quality.
Thanks for any pointers,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
Wikimedia UK should have some equipment on hand that you can borrow. I've copied in my colleague Katie Chan who is best placed to help you.
Thanks and regards,
Stevie

Daniel,
I'm bringing an HD video camera to shoot some video stories for Wikipedia Weekly, so let's talk about perhaps my helping out in this area.
Usually the video is not a huge problem, but getting good audio is!

Hi Daniel,
I will be brining a Canon EOS SL1 DSLR phtography camera that also shoots nice video. I don't know if I can lend it for 3 days just because I want to be taking pictures - but perhaps we can work something out if you can't find another.
Thanks,
Dorothy
