Hi guys ,
I'm looking the metavid source code , when I've read about a
imprintlogo.so
in this page , http://slugforge.cse.ucsc.edu/gf/project/metavid/scmsvn/?action=browse&p...
on the end of the code.
But I dont't find the source of this vhook module.
Where I can find it for study and see it in action?
Thanks for your help
Bye
Pierpaolo
the vhook module is useful for adding an image overlay to your encoded video. It looks like I have misplaced the source code to that module :( it was a pretty simple hack... You will have to look at the ffmpeg vhook documentation. It may be possible to do the overlay without the importlogo.so hack now days. I have attached the compiled version we are using.

Hi Michael ,
first of all want to thanks you for your reply. I want to try your imprintlogo.so , but it seems to bee an hack of watermark vhook module , I'm right?
If you find the source code I'm so happy , becuase I want to try it on different ffmpeg version.
Reading your answer , now I have two new questions : -)
What version of ffmpeg do you use? There are some and some svn version but something of this work well of others exspecially for compatibility
What's the mean of your words "It may be possible to do the overlay without the importlogo.so hack now days" ?
Can you give to me more informations?
Thanks a lot

yea I think the source was lost when we had one of our raid failures. We use ffmpeg2theora version 0.16
http://graphcomp.com/ffmpeg/#plugins documentation should help you write a watermark vhook module if you need to... (it appears that recent ffmpeg activity has deprecated old vhook code. )
"It may be possible to do the overlay without the importlogo.so hack now days" means I think they have different plugin architecture so you should be able to use the watermark code here: http://cekirdek.pardus.org.tr/~ismail/ffmpeg-docs/ffmpeg-r_2vhook_2watermark...
although I am not 100% sure about the stability of base ffmpegs ogg output at the moment... (hence the need for ffmpeg2theora) ...
another option you may want to investigate is gstreamer for media conversion. In the gstreamer environment its easy to do watermarking although a bit more complex to set up the pipelines for running the video conversion.
