Hello MetaVidWiki community,
I am trying to familiarize myself with MetaVidWiki, and have managed to install a copy on my local machine. It seems like everything went OK, but I'm having trouble finding out what to do next - are there some materials on the web that could help me figure out how to add a video to the wiki and start annotating it?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Stjepan
Stjepan,
I've been intending to write up a wiki article regarding the setup and usage of the system, but I've been procrastinating.
There is frequently someone in #metavid on irc.freenode.net who is willing to help.
I'm sure there is a more practical method for adding a stream, but here is one method:
Go to a URL that is similar to the following one.
http://hostname/mvWiki/index.php/Stream:Name_of_stream
You should be prompted to 'Add The Stream'.
Once that is finished, you should be able to query for the 'stream_id'.
In the table 'mv_stream_files' the 'path' column should be a full URL to the media in webspace.
That might be enough to get you started. Please ask more questions and hopefully we'll have better answers by then.

basically you just have to go to a page like Stream:Stream Name and then as an admin edit that page and it should let you point it at a video stream (keep the default name "mv_ogg_low_quality") then you have to insert screen shots for every 5 seconds or so... you should be able to do that with ogg_thum_insert.php
if you have more questions we generally can be found in #metavid

Thanks Seth & Michael for your help - I was able to add a stream & add some annotations! :-)
Very excited about MetaVidWiki,
