Every month, the EduWiki Newsletter documents Wikimedia and education work
happening across communities, classrooms, libraries, institutions, and
projects across the movement.
This year alone, we have published *65 stories* from across the Wikimedia
movement, reaching *more than 300 newsletter subscribers globally*. Every
month, we publish at least *10 stories*, and there is still room for yours
to be part of the May 2026 edition.
If you or your community has organized an activity related to Wikimedia and
education, taken a new approach, built a partnership, or learned something
worth documenting, we encourage you to share it.

and supporting new members joining Wikimedia education spaces.
The Starter Kit is designed to be shared, adapted, and used across
different regions and programs, making it a useful reference for local

Registration is now open for the *May 2026 edition* of the EduWiki
Knowledge Showcase

This edition will bring together educators, Wikimedians, and community
organizers to explore different perspectives on Wikimedia, education, and
participation across learning spaces.
The session will feature presentations from community leaders working
across Wikimedia and education initiatives, including:

*Ziko van Dijk*, who will examine the role of humour in educational and
collaborative wiki spaces

*Hector Gabriel*, who will explore the relationship between artificial
intelligence and Wikipedia
The showcase will also create space for participants to reflect on how
Wikimedia projects continue to shape teaching, learning, communication, and
community engagement across different contexts.

The EduWiki Hub Team is pleased to announce that applications are now open
for Cohort 2 of the EduWiki Hub Mentorship Programme <https://w.wiki/FvVj>,
a six month initiative designed to support Wikimedia education organisers,
emerging leaders, and contributors through mentorship, peer learning, and
practical experience.
The programme connects participants with experienced mentors across the
Wikimedia and education movement while creating opportunities for
collaborative learning, structured check ins, and applied project work
within local contexts.
Participants will benefit from:

One on one mentoring tailored to their goals and interests

Peer learning sessions and cohort check ins

Practical learning through outreach activities, partnerships, or
programme implementation

Recognition and certification upon successful completion of the programme
Programme Duration: July 2026 to January 2027
