will be held in Bogotá, Colombia, on May 31-June 1, 2025.
This conference is a platform for shared experience from working in the
Education space of Wikimedia. The conference welcomes education leaders in
Wikimedia and mission aligned organizations. The program will be built
collaboratively under the coordination of the Program Committee.

Hi everyone,
The Wikipedia & Education User Group is pleased to announce the third
round of our Education Program Mentorship Program, renamed to EduWiki
Connect. If you're an experienced or aspiring program leader, we
encourage you to sign up to be a mentor or a mentee, by November 22:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1nS-nfNye5a6JAk_wryuryBJsGGxcrorWCLGI-PZlI_…
A bit more details: Three years ago, we launched the first edition of
the program as a pilot, and then another one in 2022. We evaluated both
programs with surveys and the results showed that people were very
enthusiastic about the project, so here's another instance. We plan on
doing the matching of mentors and mentees in late November, and then to
kick off the mentorships in early December. The program should run for
six months, which should give ample time for each mentor and mentee pair
to establish connection and create a regular meeting schedule.
Benefits of becoming a mentor:
* *Personal Growth:* Mentoring provides an opportunity for mentors to
reflect on their own experiences, improve communication skills, and
enhance leadership abilities.
* *Networking:* Mentors can expand their professional network by
connecting with other experienced mentors and mentees. Also, find an
opportunity to learn new skills and experiences during the mentoring
process.
* *Giving Back:* Mentoring allows experienced individuals to contribute
to the growth and success of the Wikipedia and Education User Group
community.
* *Recognition:* Mentors receive recognition within the community for
their valuable contributions.
* *You are not alone:* Throughout the mentoring process, you will
receive support from both the Wikipedia and Education User Group and the
Education Team at the Wikimedia Foundation.
Benefits of being a mentee:
* *Skill Enhancement:* Mentees have the opportunity to learn from
experienced mentors, improving their knowledge and skills in program
management.
* *Guidance:* Mentees receive personalized guidance and support in
addressing program challenges and achieving program objectives.
* *Networking:* Mentees can connect with mentors and fellow mentees,
expanding their professional network.
* *Confidence Building:* Mentoring boosts mentees' confidence and
decision-making abilities.
One mentorship pair from 2021, Nebojša Ratković from Wikimedia Serbia
and Anthony B. Diaz from Wiki Advocates Philippines, shared their
experiences at one of our Open Meetings. You can watch the recording on
YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT76_cj-SGY
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT76_cj-SGY>
So, come join us in this endeavor and apply to become a mentor or a mentee!
Cheers,
Filip

* There are 11 candidates running; you can see their statements here:
