I'm just a bit concerned that it doesn't buy much for non-wmf users. I expect many wouldn't have trouble installing the plugins. I'd love to hear from anyone. So I sent this mail.

Do you mean that we should or shouldn't support it? Or that we should somehow create another plugin on top of cirrus that enhances it with extra features only if those Elasticsearch plugins are installed?
