[Wikipedia-l] Moving a page to a redirect

I thought I heard someone mention that a page move to an existing 
redirect was possible?
ie
if [[A]] redirects to [[B]],
then moving [[A]] to [[B]] should give no error message and just 
overwrite the redirection page at [[B]].

this doesn't seem to be working
(I understand our coders have a heavy workload, so I'm not pressing for 
this urgently -- I'm just wondering if it's *supposed* to be working but 
isn't.)
