It is my impression that too many intelligent people spend way too
much energy on this list arguing in circles. This energy would be
better spent improving Wikipedia articles, hence the New Rule.

The New Rule
============

1. For every posting on one of Wikipedia's mailing lists, a
substantial edit to a Wikipedia article has to be made.

2. Any substantial edit can only be used for one mailing list
message.

3. The substantial edit has to have occurred within 24 hours
of the posting of the mailing list message.

4. Proof of the substantial edit is to be attached to the posting,
as link to the corresponding diff.

Notes
=====

* The New Rule is fully enforced policy and goes into
effect immediately.
* There will be no discussion, and no voting.
* As always, everybody is free to ignore the New Rule.
* I do not have a definition of "substantial edit".
* No action by Jimbo is required at this time.

That's amha, a *great* idea !

Okay. Yesterday I began a http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nom_binomial (Pierre, what do you think ?)

I did improve a lot the http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gu%E9pard (cheetah) article, more comprehensive, and more neutral (yes, even on a cheetah article). I think it better than the english one btw.

I finally settled the http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ortolan (Ortolan) article (very french oriented right now). I did it without looking at the english article, so I will now have the pleasure to improve it with the additional view.

This said, I did it as a tribute to User:Ortolan. The english article needs to be updated for it is not true *at all* we put napkins over our heads to prevent grease splashing.

One might find in the french article the way ortolans are traditionnally prepared and eaten in Provence (from my grand-father and an old traditionnal provencal cook book).

I also added the "modern" way that some of you seem to find so outrageous/decadent (the one with the napkin).

For some who might be interested (christmas forecasting), we have a recipe for preparation of http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/foie_gras. I would be very happy if somebody could provide the recipe for the real british christmas cake pudding.

I have 3 mails worth on the en.list today

cheers
