What's the status of global file usage? I know
it's active on Commons,
at least as far as "show me stored usage info". What about seeding and
updates? Tests show that its clearly incomplete at the moment.

Direct check (12 images):

global usage (6 images):

Is seeding running?
If so, is it running per wikipedia?
What's the estimated time to finish seeding (days, weeks, month)?
Is the "incremental" (on-edit) update working?
It was disabled for performance reasons. Bryan has updated the extension to improve its
performance, and I have reviewed these updates. Some of his updates depend on schema
changes, which, even by entirely dropping the data table and recreating it under the new
schema, will take time to apply. Once this schema change has been applied, it will be
possible to re-activate GlobalUsage.
