My request is that the status "301 Moved
Permanently" not be used, and
instead use "302 Found", "303 See Other", or "307 Temporary
Redirect".
(Only 302 is compatible with HTTP/1.0 agents.)
302 doesn't achieve anything with respect to search engines, or at least
Google:
http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/3.html
It /shouldn't/ work for the others either. If it does, it's because
those search engines are broken. 302 is a temporary redirect.
301 was part of HTTP/1.0:
