Having different audio and video players may be geeky, but it's not
"Linux hacker" level geeky. It's "ordinary user who plays around with
a few programs and chooses the ones they like best" level geeky. And
to require, for that kind of user, to set up a helper application so
they can launch the right player when they load a video or music file
from Wikimedia -- would be very geeky indeed. IMHO to have both the
same extension _and_ MIME type for clearly different types of media is
very misguided.
Addressing one usability issue does not preclude us from addressing another.
