Hi,
Thanks for your support.
Having overcome the difficulties getting math to work, my thanks to the
community.
I am using MW1.9.3 on FreeBSD and am having some trouble the syntax for
<math>\,</math>.
I have read and experimented with the basics as per meta.mediawiki.org and
mostly failed to produce anything but errors. Syntax.
Is there a source of current (MW1.9.3) syntax for the math package ?

More than half of the flags are broken images.
This is the same bug that I've reported millions of times before. People
keep suggesting to use action=purge to convince the server to regenerate
the image file. Well great, except doing that for all the broken flags
on this page is beyond tedious. And besides, how is a casual reader
supposed to do this.
This needs fixing quite urgently, especially seeing as it's been around
for so long.

As explained on IRC I thought it was a bug, not a feature, sorry again.
But I am still unsure for <gallery>s:
blows the small image up. -> feature
or
does not blow up. -> feature
<gallery>
Image:SmallIcon25pixel.jpg
</galler>
blows icon up to standard gallery width. -> bug or feature?
Raymond.
Hi,
I did a quick test of what audio files look like when used inline,
with the new OGG Handler extension:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Sandbox&oldid=7564729
It appears that the 'frame' keyword doesn't cause the new player to
appear. I doubt that frame is used very much, but since the old
behaviour is next to useless, I suggest that it get the upgrade as
well.
Also,
now seems to have no material difference to
. (Maybe the caption could appear next to the "i"
graphic?)
Another minor thing is that when the "thumb" keyword is used, the "i"
graphic is centred, whereas otherwise it is left aligned.
thanks,
Brianna

Ok, I see your points.
What do you think about the following method:
1. Define an array per language in /languages/localNames/localNamesXx.php
In a similar way the native language names are definded in Names.php
2. Read this array in /languages/messages/messagesXx.php:
require_once( dirname(__FILE__) .
'/languages/localNames/localNamesXx.php' ) ;
Benefits from this method should be:
1. No hojillion wfMsg() calls ;-)
2. localNamesXx.php could be created/updated by a script from a source
like http://www.unicode.org/cldr/data/charts/summary/en.html (Idea by
Nikerabbit, thanks :)

I'm happy to announce that as part of an ongoing partnership between
the Wikimedia Foundation and PediaPress.com, PediaPress has agreed to
release as open source a MediaWiki parser library written in Python:
http://code.pediapress.com/wiki/wiki
The library is released under a BSD license. It supports rendering
mathematics and timelines, provided the correct dependencies are
installed. It could be used for purposes such as offline readers or
desktop applications.
Please contact the developers at mwlib <at> googlegroups.com if you have
technical questions about the library.

No, not dead, just in temporary hibernation. I have
in fact created a SourceForge project for it and would
be happy to accept development help until I am ready
again to return to full-time spare-time development.
