Recently there was a huge change in the API documentation at /w/api.php
I found a notice here:
https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-api-announce/2014-October/0…
Should this perhaps go into the tech newsletter (I couldn't find it in the
last five)?

In what time frame will there be results of Research:Task
recommendations/Experiment one? --Atlasowa (talk) 13:49, 21 October 2014

Same question here. We've been serving a big popup after every edit
to all new users since... September? Do you have enough data for this
research? If you did, but there isn't enough analysis bandwidth now, it
would be wise to disable the recommendations until they can be
evaluated. --Nemo 08:01, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

We've temporarily disabled CirrusSearch's insource:// syntax because we
believe it was that cause of two CirrusSearch outages this week. We'll
reenable it when we're confident it won't break anything and we'll send
another email to this list.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
