I think it should be more then a year, but other then that I have to
agree. Maybe two years.
By the way, are you typing these emails on a PDA or something? There
are very few words per line, which makes me have to scroll more. Not a
real big deal though.

But, before that process starts, the wiki should be publicised. Maybe
mention it in some sort of announcement, like "XYZ language Wikipedia
has existed for 3 years and still has 6 articles. Please help to
contribute to this Wikipedia, if you know XYZ language. Without more
support, the Inactive wiki closure process will begin in X months.".
Also, if the language is a common'ish language, then the wiki should
not be closed -- it will eventually take off. The wiki closure process
should be very rare.
Thanks Phroziac,
you helped me look at the issue
a bit differently, and maybe the
term closure wouldn't have to mean
'deletion'. It could be put on a
probation basis (how that reminds
me of Animal House, but...) if it
could be that after a year or so of
no relevant activity, which would
include article submission, instead
of vandalism attacks, let's say...
it could be put on non-edit status
until there were requests to have
it re-opened. So it would remain
as a visitable site, but not editable
after a year of non-activity, thereafter
requests for it to open could put it
back online.
When I think of deletion of the
minor language wikis it just gives
me the willeys. Hibernation would
definitely be more appropriate and
palatable concerning these minor
language versions of Wikipedia.
With regards,
Jay B.
