We've got a wiki for our church running on
Mediawiki, so the default
site-wide copyright notice is the GFDL.
No GFDL notice is shown unless:
a) You selected the GFDL explicitly during setup
b) You're running a pretty old version from before this was generalized
c) You're running one of the localizations which is badly out of date
d) You imported pages including localization info from a Wikimedia web
site that has these notices embedded, in which case it probably does
apply.
If you're running an old version, upgrade to the current 1.4 release.
If you're running an old localization, go to Special:Allmessages, find
the offending message, and remove it.
We're running version 1.3.9 which I guess answers your question: I will
contact the guy who owns the hosting machine and ask him to upgrade. I'm
assuming that the upgrade process has pretty much all the bugs knocked out
of it by now?
We've got [[MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning]] which I could fix myself: which new
ones should we be expecting with version 1.4?
