I just talked to the reporter Cary mentions below... she is still
looking for some people to interview, especially experienced editors
who are actually in San Francisco proper. I'm resending this since a

While I'm not in the Bay Area proper (I live in Sacramento), I'm about
two hours way and visit frequently (Mom lives in Fremont). I only work
three days a week right now, and I'd be happy to speak. I've spoken at
conferences before, both technical and more philosophical (Extropians).
I was greatly involved in the early days of Wikipedia and in the
creation of its software.

Hey all you Wikimedians --
We're now hiring for a software development position at the new San
Francisco office. This is an entry-level position, but existing
experience with MediaWiki or other LAMP-style development will be a big
help.
Since we're still a small office, the new guy will need to help people
with basic IT issues as well; we have a mixed environment with Mac,
Linux, and Windows machines, and varying degrees of tech-savvy.

does anyone on the list have recommendations for SF (preferably SOMA)
design firms that could help us with basic CI stuff, but also
event-based things like dinner invitations & signs? Obviously we can
always check Yelp & Co., but if you have personal recommendations,
we'd appreciate them :-)

Thanks for the information about the SF Weekly story, Cary. Do you
think that they would be willing to do email interviews, or are they
looking for in-person? In-person would be tough for me.
I think we should get a friendly coast-to-coast competition going with
Boston re: whose free paper can produce a better Wikipedia story
