That was my thought. Maybe the USA is more protective of gay rights
than some other places, but you can still go to jail for a long time
for possession of Viagra without a prescription, or for placing a
wager over the telephone, or for growing medical marijuana in your
closet.
By the way, does anyone have a better source for the story about the
kid who got the 17-year sentence? A passing reference in "Gay Times"
isn't what I'd consider a neutral reliable source.
