The Board of Directors of Wikimedia DC will meet at 3 PM on June 2, 2012 to
conduct routine business. The meeting will take place at the
Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library, located at 4450 Wisconsin Avenue
NW in Washington, DC, and will also be accessible via conference call
at 916-209-4534 (PIN # 7328117).
The order of business for the meeting is attached. As always, everyone is
welcome to attend, either in person or via conference call. If you're
planning to attend, please let me know.

Natural science collections are research facilities and infrastructure
that house irreplaceable specimens and data. New technologies and
techniques make it possible to move this information from the shelves
of a science collection to a computer in a research laboratory,

This briefing will explore how scientists and natural science
collections managers are working to digitize the nation's natural
science collections to press forward the frontiers of research, spur
new technology, and provide information to answer pressing societal

Institution Archives. This event will focus on general Smithsonian
history, specifically the improvement and creation of articles related
to SI museums, archives, research centers, and people related to them. I
