The third annual *Picture of the Year* competition is an event where the
images that became Featured
Pictures<http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/COM:FP>during the year are
voted on by members from all of the Wikimedia projects,
to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Feel free to browse our worthy contenders for the title, though voting has
yet to begin.
The contest is being run by a first-time team this year, after the previous
group left unexpectedly. We hope that you will bear with us if we make any
mistakes.
