Surprisingly enough, I often prefer this 1970
Catholic edition when
introducing Chinese Bible passages to non-believers. This edition has the
most accessible language compared to other widely accepted translations.

for those not familiar with the bible in English
give you a Chinese Version
(a catholic translation of course)
你對民眾說:你們聖潔自己直到明天,你們就會有肉吃,因為上主已聽見你們哀哭說:誰給我們肉吃﹖我們在埃及是多麼好! 如今上主要給你們肉吃了;

For those who, like me, wonder why we're
feeding the jury and everyone
else with excess information: we are merely following Almighty God's
example.
“Tell the people: ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow,
when you will eat meat. The LORD heard you when you wailed, “If only we had
meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the LORD will give you meat,
and you will eat it. You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or
five, ten or twenty days, but for a whole month—until it comes out of your
nostrils and you loathe it—because you have rejected the LORD, who is among
you, and have wailed before him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’
(Numbers 11:18-20)
By the grace of God we entered the race; and by the grace of God we
will finish it and reap what we sow. Just some random thoughts on a
Wednesday afternoon.
