Greetings to Wikidata team and community from Semantic MediaWiki team
and community!
It seems that already there are a lot of things possible to do with
Wikidata. What about including some Wikidata tutorials to the tutorial
day of SMWCon conference?
I can already think of the following exciting topics:
Basic tutorials:
* adding information and querying Wikidata
* using Wikidata extensions in enterprise
Advanced topics:
* using Wikidata API
Surely, there can be a lot more interesting topics than that!
Of course all the tutorials will be video recorded and can be then
used as learning materials.
If you're interested in giving the tutorial please read our Call for
Tutorials [1] write a short proposal and contact me.

Dear comrades, I just learned of a system based on MediaWiki which shares
many of the same objectives as Wikidata: collaborative data storage and
analysis, tracking of provenance, and facilitating citations, to name a
few. I'd like to encourage a dialogue with these scientists, I do not think
they are aware of your initiative, and they definitely have valuable
practical experience after seeing the real-world use of their system.
Currently they are managing several petabytes of data.
Research paper by the site creators:

Sorry I cannot link to their site itself-it might require an account...

Following numerous discussions and after input from many people, we are
happy to present the new version of the proposal that would lead to
Wikidata supporting structured data for the Wiktionaries.

I am very thankful to all those that provided input, and am also happy to
be able to send this out before Wikimania, and thus potentially have a good
discussion there. But obviously everyone feel free to chime in beyond that.
I would be glad if I could again ask the community to spread the word to
the Wiktionary communities, in order to gain as much feedback from them as
possible, and hopefully support.
Cheers,
Denny

There is also the dev camp which will have Wikidata hacking and dev

Hi,
I noticed some pages we crawled containing error message like this;
<div id="mw-content-text" lang="zh-CN" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr"><p
class="error">Failed to render property P373:
Wikibase\LanguageWithConversion::factory: given languages do not have the
same parent language</p>
But when I open the url in browser, there is no such message. And using
index.php can also get normal content without error messages.
Here are examples you can retry:
bad
$ wget 'http://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-cn/Google'
good
$ wget 'http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Google'
Looks like something is wrong on Wikipedia side, anything need to fix?
Thanks
