mentioned a Hitwise study on the participation ratio of Web 2.0
websites. Does anybody here have more information about this study,
especially how they gathered their data about Wikipedia, arriving at the
participation ratio of 4.6%?
Interesting. I wonder what their criteria was, because that number
most certainly isn't correct considering all page views.
It all depends on that habits of the people who use the ISP's they've
bought info from. So it's possible that people with blabby ISPs are
more likely to edit Wikipedia, than people with non-blabby ISPs,
something like that.
This study isn't available in their press section. They make their
money buy selling the info, so I doubt we could ever get much more by
way of stats, unless we cough up some serious dough.
