Has anyone else noticed this? I am having problems with cron on
willow, which does not seem to be executing my crontab. I tried to
test it by adding a line to my crontab that should execute every
minute:
* * * * * /home/cbm/touch.sh
That script runs correctly from the command line, but cron does not
seem to execute it. Some of my other other cronjobs appear not to
have run in a couple days, even though they were working fine for
months before.

Hello,
I just noticed that my "welcome" crons have stopped running.
Looking at "top", it seems that the server's CPU is fully used, all the
time. Includes several instances of :
-user rez : ~/pywikipedia/zzfawikipatroler.py,
~/pywikipedia/zzavanegary.py, ~/pywikipedia/zznavbox.py
-user javadyou : ~/pywikipedia/radeh7.py
I'm afraid that's one or more of those scripts have a misformed
cron/parameters that keeps opening new ones while the old aren't
terminated, hogging the CRON for themselves.

Hello all,
good news: We got a s4 and a s7-dump from the WMF, I transfer them to the
toolserver at the moment. Because the integration of Wikidata in hu/hewiki
will start soon AFAIK, I will begin with s7. Because the dumps are in the new
binary-format the actual "import" will be quite fast, the downtime of s7
should not be too long (at few hours at maximum, but I can't promise
anything). So I hereby declare a read-only-time and a downtime of s7
Tomorrow, starting 16:00 UTC.
The handling of s4 will take more time, because I have to convert the dump in
the traditional format first. I will notice you when downtimes are needed.
Sincerely,
DaB.

Hi everyone,
Unlike previous years the big European Hackathon won't be in Berlin, but
in Amsterdam. We're aiming to do the hackathon in May 2013 with a
preference for the weekend of Saturday the 25th. To make sure this is a
good weekend I've set up a straw poll at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Amsterdam_Hackathon_2013#Straw_Poll .
Please fill it out so we can finalize the date!
Thank you,
Maarten

Hello,
I've been working on a new script that will access the MySQL database. In
testing this script, I was worried about the complexity of some of my
queries, so I naturally went to the MySQL client and ran them with
"explain". It appears that I do not have permission to do so. Is this
intended? Is something wrong?
*EXPLAIN/SHOW can not be issued; lacking privileges for underlying table*
See session snippet below:
grphack@willow:~$ mysql -h enwiki-p.userdb.toolserver.org enwiki_p
Server version: 5.1.66 Source distribution
Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the current input
statement.
mysql> explain select * from revision;
ERROR 1345 (HY000): EXPLAIN/SHOW can not be issued; lacking privileges for
underlying table
Thanks!

Hello Everybody!
Happy New Years to everybody. I'm trying to create a JIRA account to then
request a toolserver account to run a bot (VoxelBot from enwiki) on the
server. However, when I try to make a JIRA account, I get this error:
A system error occurred while creating your user account.
For further assistance, please contact your JIRA
administrators<https://jira.toolserver.org/secure/ContactAdministrators!default.jspa>
.
Furthermore, the contact administrators link is also broken. It says that
tool isn't set up yet. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
