The commands you wrote are not correct. The last command gives me:
> pietrodn@nightshade:~$ cat crontab.txt | crontab -e
> no crontab for pietrodn - using an empty one
> Vim: Warning: Input is not from a terminal
> Vim: Error reading input, exiting...
> Vim: preserving files...

The right commands are:
pietrodn@hemlock:~$ crontab -l > crontab.txt
pietrodn@nightshade:~$ crontab crontab.txt
(without -e)
This works for me.
Cheers

Hi all,
I just wondered if anyone had the source code to the script similar to the
one at http://status.toolserver.org/ where you can update the status from a
textbox form.
I apologise if this is the incorrect place to ask, but seeing it has
something to do with the Toolserver, I thought I should send it here where
river or another ts-admin could view it.
Thanks in advance.

Hello all !
Some Wikimedia projects have been using custom namespaces for some
articles, such as the Spanish 102 (Anexo) namespace, used for lists.
This created interwiki links between articles with different namespace
numbers (cross namespace interlanguage links). This feature was not
yet supported in interwiki.py, where a mismatch between two interwiki
namespaces caused the link to be removed from the home wiki when using
-force ( http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sailing_at_the_2000_Summer_Olympi…
for example). Since revision 5614, these links are fully supported.
We are concerned about consistency between bots running older versions
of our framework, and bots using a version newer than r5614, since
this may cause links to those special namespaces to be removed by the
former while the latter could insist on adding them, leading to
unnecessary confusion.
** In short ** :
All interwiki.py users, please update your local copy of our framework
to a version newer than revision 5614. The latest snapshot available (
at http://toolserver.org/~valhallasw/pywiki/ ) includes those recent
changes, if you don't use SVN.
Thanks for your time,

this mail only applies to people with projects on the stable server.
hi,
the new stable server is now ready. all accounts and projects have been added
on the new server, and web hosting is enabled for projects which need it.
home directories have not been copied. to migrate your project, copy any files
you need from old stable (stable.ts.wikimedia.org) to new stable
(stable.toolserver.org), then start your tools as normal (if appropriate).
once you have migrated, ask me to add an HTTP redirect from the old URL to the
new URL.
there is no deadline for migration, but i would like to shut down old stable
within two months.

Ohh.... I see... I tested with wget, and it worked. I tested with lynx, an I
also got a 403. Puzzeled me a bit, but then I found out that lynx (and PHP) use
IPv6, and I had only whitelisted the IPv4 address :)
It should work now.

Daniel

hello,
the new login server (nightshade.toolserver.org) is now ready for use. this
server is for everything except web serving. all your bots, tools, etc. must
now be run here.
the login alias 'login.toolserver.org' will be updated shortly. this might
cause host keys warnings from your SSH client. the fingerprints of the new
server are:
RSA: 81:64:c8:f8:29:d1:ed:d7:b5:96:7a:5c:fa:d3:f5:61
DSA: e2:4a:07:58:36:ec:9c:0a:73:b4:f8:49:8f:ff:1a:d0
/home is shared between both servers, so there is no need to copy any files
over. http://toolserver.org/ URLs still point to hemlock.
if you find any problems with the new server, please file a bug at
<https://jira.toolserver.org> in the Toolserver project.
after 1 week from today (June 19), we will start killing all tools which run on
hemlock.

Hello all,
the last debian-update changes some config-option for suphp (we use suphp to
run php-scripts in the context of the owner instead of the context of
apache).
I think that I reconfig everything right for us, but if you have problems with
running your php-scripts, send a answer to this post to the ml.
Sincerly,
DaB.

The data base is apparently replicated, only not listed in `toolserver.wiki`
Thus it is not accessible by tools generating menues or from otherwise
relying on this table to get there.
