I am currently setting up a free gaming access wiki area of my website and
i'm having a bit of trouble with the wiki setup. Where do I download the
infobox extension file so that I can use this in my wiki pages for the
site? Tried to use the template coding, but it didn't seem to work and as a
result I found that I needed a .php file in the extensions folder to make it
work. Is this extension file free use for any wiki site or is the one on
wikipedia specially tailored? Any help would be appreciated in fixing my
problem. The current setup for the wiki area of my site is at
http://wiki.mmodomination.com/ if you need some information.
Hello,
I have been requested to grant a specific group of users, access to one
Namespace on an existing wiki (not currently using Namespace).
The complete request is:
- setup a group of user so that they can only access one Namespace/Group
on wiki
- Add other Namespaces and assign the existing users accordingly
I am aware that all users can view the main Namespace; is there a way to
prevent the group setup to view only one Namespace, from accessing the
main Namespace? Is there a method of preventing user from even seeing
menu selections?
Is it a big chore, or even advisable to move main pages to different
Namespaces?
I have Namespaces & Group permissions setup on my test wiki, and it
works fine.
One last question:
Is there a way of moving multiple pages to a Namespace?
Thanks.

The update script problems I got were entirely my fault:
After having upload stability problems, I selected "upload if newer" to save
time, not considering, thus not checking, whether the server file dates were
identical to the original source file dates.
Which they weren't, not really surprisingly.
So I had high hopes after doing a new complete upload and running the update
script with no errors.
However, I still get the database query error from LogPage::saveContent,
described above, when saving edits.
How do I proceed from here?
I guess it is possible to turn on display of the "offending" SQL query?

Wanted to announce that version 0.4.0 of RDFIO [0] is now released.
This also marks the finishing of my GSoC 2010 project [1].
I posted a blog post which wraps up some notes regarding both the new
release, and the GSoC in general [2]. Thanks for a great time!

P.S. For those who wonder, I can also mention that I'm planning a
transition to MediaWiki repositories (from the current one at Google
code) in the near future.

I have just updated my wiki from 1.15.1 to 1.16.
After uploading all files (except extension and images directories), I run
"maintenance/update.php" getting as follows:
Fatal error: Class 'DeleteDefaultMessages' not found in
/data/www/bmk.no/www/wiki/maintenance/updaters.inc on line 1161
Now I cannot update pages. When saving I get the following (based on my
translation):
Syntax error in a database query indicating a software error. Most recent
database query was:
(SQL-query hidden)
from the function <LogPage::saveContent>. The database returned the error
<1054: Unknown column 'log_page' in 'field list' (localhost)>.

It's easiest if I just quote my contributor:

I'm translating some pages from techbase and need to use lot of the <code> -
tag. As described I write <code cppqt n> .... </code> and get a result with
the following line:
Invalid language argument, "cppqt", select one from the list:
I've tried cpp, cpp-qt, c, qt , etc, but all results in the same error. So a
correct tagged code sequence isn't displayed at least and important parts of
information are missing by the end user.
I noticed the possibility to substitute the <code> tag with the <pre>. But
this gives no line numbering
</quote>
Can anyone suggest a solution please?

Im looking for a way to include a list of pages that link to the current page in the article.
Even better would to be able to do this with the condition that the pages listed are in a specific category.
So if I have a "Part" article, and id like a list of "project" articles that link to that part. So in the "Part" article I can have a section: "Projects that use this part" (all "project" articles are in the category:project)
Does that make sense? Is this possible?
As always... Thank you,

Hi. I sent the below a while ago but didn't get a response from anyone. Does
anyone use the CategoryTree extension? To recap. This is the problem I'm
having with it:
Apologies if this has already been asked. I've checked the discussion page
for the CategoryTree extension and it looks like the problem I'm having has
been reported but I can't see an obvious solution.
I'm running MediaWiki 1.16.0 . I've installed the CategoryTree extension and
it does seem to be working. The problem I have is that when there are no
subcategories under a category I still get an + symbol next to the category
when I think it should display an x symbol. When I click on the + symbol I
get the message 'no subcategories'. Also, when there are no subcategories
and no pages under the category I do get the x symbol but it's still
clickable and after clicking on it it turns into an + symbol. Only after
refreshing the page does it return back to a x. Basically I want my
categories to expand in the same way as the categories in MediaWiki.org at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Category:Top_level . Has anyone had the same
problem as me? Thanks for your help.
Jim
I am installing media wiki 1.16.0 onto a Solaris 10 u8 x64 system. I am using the sunfreeware packages and have the following versions:
Apache - 2.2.15
PHP – 5.2.13
libxml2 - 2.7.7
When I navigate to the config component I get this browser message:
Your system has a combination of PHP and libxml2 versions which is buggy and can cause hidden data corruption in MediaWiki and other web apps. Upgrade to PHP 5.2.9 or later and libxml2 2.7.3 or later! ABORTING (http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=45996 for details).
Anyone have any idea?
Thx,
CC
