Hello. When I installed my wiki, I selected a language with arabic script. I thought it would show in the arabic script, but instead it's in latin script and I need it to be the arabic script. Can anyone please tell me how I can fix that?
Thanks a lot,
Alan.
Hi everyone
We're running 1.6 of Mediawiki and 1.2b of LDAP Authentication extension
and everything is working well, we can successfully login to our AD
domain. Before we make it live however, I want to hide the AD domain
from the login screen.
When you go to the Special:Userlogin page, you get options; Username,
Password and Your Domain (which is a drop down list) In our case, there
will only ever be one domain that the users will login to, so we'd like
to hide it from login screen.
Could anyone point me in the right direction for the bit of code that
generates this HTML field,and if you can stop this from being displayed?
Any help is gratefully received.
Thanks
John

Hey all,
I cannot seem to find this documented anywhere, so not sure if it's
possible... but how can I include a MediaWiki page (example:
MediaWiki:Headerbar) to a skin? I would like to include a page that can be
edited via MediaWiki much like how you can edit MediaWiki:Sidebar. Is this
possible?
Thanks!

any where i go in to my local mediawiki i see the same article in the

hi, i'm having a problem changing the spacing between paragraphs.
i tried putting
p {margin-bottom: 1.5em}
in [[MediaWiki:Common.css]]
but nothing changed.
(i tried different em values too)
so i looked at the source code of a page to see where common.css is
included, and tried navigating directly to that link
the link contains "action=raw", but when i navigate to it i get the same
thing as when i navigate to [[MediaWiki:Common.css]] rather than the raw
text.
so that might be why the code isn't working, but i don't know why it's doing
that.
i also tried putting the css code at the bottom of shared.css, but nothing
happened there either.
i'm using MediaWiki 1.14.0, php 5.2.0, and abyss x1 as my webserver.
Hello,
I have just finished my first official third-party mw-extension and wanted to get some advice.
My extension is called "MCCP" and is specifically designed to help
people who are tasked with configuration management (CM) of any complex collection of systems.
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Mccp
I am witting to the mediawiki-l group to ask for some feedback/advice from anyone who has been successful in making their extensions well known and widely-used. Specifically, I'm hoping someone can tell me if I have posted the extension correctly on the http://www.mediawiki.org for public-use and if there is anything specific I should do to let people know that it exists.
The extension requires other components such as WGET, PEAR and SSL and a custom skin which I have bundled in with the extension.
Since this extension has all these other dependacies, I though it would be most helpful to provide a complete "Installation Walk-through" on the discussion page:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension_talk:Mccp
Please take a peek and let me know if this effort has a credible place in the mediawiki extension collection and how I could best let it be found by the people who might best be served by it.
truly,
- Rich (revansx)
Hello!
I see this Meta-Tags in the source of a Wikipage.
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" />
<meta name="generator" content="MediaWiki 1.14.0" />
<meta name="keywords" content="Hauptseite,Admin" />
How and where are these tags generated? Is there a good extension available
to generate additional tags?
Regards
