When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your

style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

read .
What's is 'apiThumbCacheExpiry' max value ?
i can make thumbs never expire?
$wgHTTPTimeout by default is 3 milliseconds , i had increase this
value , but the response of pages are slow while the thumbs images are
downloading , and sometimes when reached this time the the page go
blank and no result.
how to make the page show first, and them images thumb show while we
are reading the page or article.?
regards
$wgHTTPTimeout = 90000; //milisegundos
$wgHTTPProxy = "http://PyproxySquidIP:SquidPort";
$wgForeignFileRepos[] = array(
'class' => 'ForeignAPIRepo',
'name' => 'shared',
'hashLevels' => '2',
'hasSharedCache' => $wgCacheSharedUploads,
'apibase' =>
'http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php',
'fetchDescription' => false, // Optional
'descriptionCacheExpiry' => 432000, // 12*5 hours, optional
'apiThumbCacheExpiry' => 864000, // 12 hours, optional, but
required for local thumb caching
);

Hi everyone.
I am using $wgDefaultSkin to set skin preferences from
LocalSettings.php based on the domain the request is coming from.
The problem is that user preferences override this choice. Is there is
way to force the skin selection regardless of user preferences?

Did you check that there exist a thumb path (manually created)
e.g. .../images/thumb
and that this thumb directory is writable?

I've just uploaded a largish GIF image to my wiki and I'm getting an
error that says:
"Error creating thumbnail: Invalid thumbnail parameters"
I say largish but it's not really that big a file (4,865 by 3,300
pixels, 410 KB). The file uploads without other problem and I was able
to manually create a thumbnail at the command line (on the server) using
ImageMagick (which is what MW is set to use).
I couldn't find the phrase "Invalid thumbnail parameters" anywhere on
the MediaWiki site. It's not clear from the error what "thumbnail
parameters" might be "invalid". Any suggestions what might need to be
fixed or adjusted?
This is MW 1.13.3
PHP 5.1.6
MySQL 5.0.45
ImageMagick 6.2.8.0-4.e15_1.1

Hi all,
I'm newbie with semantic form.
I know how to create simple form with multiselection and/or some
fields type and/or more templates.
I would like to understand how I could to create a dynamic table (like
http://genomics.cribi.unipd.it/~bilardi/dynamic/) into a form for
creating page with a static table with results.
I read http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Javascript so that I create my
MediaWiki:Dynamic.js but I don't understand if it is right way and
how/where to recall javascript function into form page.
Can you help me about it?
Best,
