Hi,
I am sure about my password, but I cannot connect as WikiSysop, the password
is refused.
I asked to send me a new password yesterday but I did not receive one.
I just tried again to obtain a new password, but the site tells me that he
already sent me one within the last 24 hours.
So what can I do ?
bye
Klaus
I have one particularly dear user that continues to create offensive
accounts and pages with offensive content. (He is a known vandal of
Wikipedia too.)
I have followed instructions in
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:User_rights
to allow editing only to emailconfirmed users.
He still uses bogus email addresses to register and is able to create pages.
I noticed that all his edits start with the delete template. This is a
typical edit:
{{delete|Stupid}} Obama
Any ideas?

I have modified localsettings to allow XLS files but for some reason I
continually get
'The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. Please check the
file and upload again.'
My current setting looks like
$wgFileExtensions =3D array( 'xls','txt', 'sql', 'png', 'gif',
'jpg','jpeg', 'doc', 'mp3', 'bmp');
They all appear to work correctly except for xls.
Not that I like the idea of having XLS in the database .. but users seem
to think it is something they need. It will last for a short period of
time then I can lock it down and delete them.
TIA

Hello all,
Sorry if my question is already answered on the export page documentation (
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Export ). I read through that page, but
didn¹t understand this section:
³In the current version the export format does not contain an XML
replacement of wiki markup (see Wikipedia DTD for an older proposal). You
only get the wikitext as you get when editing the article.²
My question is if it¹s possible to export templates from Mediawiki (we are
running 1.6.x). Can someone please let me know if this is possible?
In the current export, I see the templates as content in the pages, but no
template definition is exported.
Thanks much in advance.
Hello,
I need some help with the following problem (described also here:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project:Support_desk/Sections/Database).
I am moving a MediaWiki based webpage from one server to another.
After exporting the database and importing it to the new server I got
the message "1271: Illegal mix of collations for operation ' IN '
(mysql.extremefaith.info)". So I updated MediaWiki to the newest
stable version (1.13.3) which caused the change of the $wgDBmysql5
variable value to "true" and that solved the problem.
Yet another one appeared. Although the content of the present pages
remained unchanged (all the national characters were present) all the
links with national characters became "red" (f.ex. "Śnieżnobiałe
światło") and I can't access the content of those pages. What's more
when I add the content manually some pages still remain "red". When I
click on this kind of edited-"red" page I can see the content but it's
being opened in "edit" tab by default. All the tables have
"latin2_general_ci" collation set.
Could you please help me to fix the "red" links with national characters?
(You can see the red links f.ex. here:

Thanks, Platonides.

Didn't notice... thanks a lot for mentioning this!
Do you happen to know of a precise definition of what is in the
pages-meta-history files? Or: what was excluded from these files? Or:
could you please send the (tracking) URL of the above bug?
Thank you.

Merci!
