Hi,
When I click on "setup the Wiki" link, I get this:
PHP 5.0.0 or higher is required. ABORTING.
From the shell, when I execute the "php --version" command,I see this:
PHP 5.1.6 (cgi) (built: Sep 4 2006 15:50:24)
Copyright (c) 1997-2006 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2006 Zend Technologies
What am I missing? Any ideas on this may be of great help!
Thanks in advance,
Garima
Hi,
I have installed mediawiki (version 1.6.8) on Debian 3.1. Afterwords I succeded to install <math> support.
It is perfectly working with simple formulas (both conversions to png and html), but it has problem with parsing more difficult formulas for example:
<math> U_{out} =\begin{cases} U_{S+} & \mbox{if } U_+ > U_- \\ U_{S-} & \mbox{if } U_+ < U_-\end{cases}</math>
I tried to copy formulas, which are working on Wikipedia to sandbox on my server to avoid syntactical errors and it says (in red color) that it cannot understand it.
I would like to ask which component is responsible for parsing the math language and which version I have to install to completely understand the wikipedia math syntax.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jakub
P.S. I just subscribed myself to this list and the first mail had problem vith delivery, so I'm sending it for the second time.
So I apologise in advance if the same mail comes 2 times.
I've seen some wikis have managed to personalize their toolbox, such
as http://www.chelseawiki.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page.
Is there a simple way to do it, besides altering monobook skin?
Basicly, to eliminate whatlinkshere, recentchageslinked, printable
version, and permalink.
Thanks.
Okay, so when I used the $root/wiki/config/index.php file to install
the MediaWiki software on my G4, it didn't recognize that I have
MySQL installed (I have 5.0.24.) So I decided to just go with
postgresql, which is also installed. I entered the correct db info,
and under "database host" put localhost. I get the following:
PHP 5.0.5 installed
Found database drivers for: PostgreSQL
PHP server API is apache; ok, using pretty URLs (index.php/Page_Title)
Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support.
PHP is configured with no memory_limit.
No zlib support.
Neither Turck MMCache nor eAccelerator nor APC are installed, can't
use object caching functions
Found GNU diff3: /usr/bin/diff3.
Couldn't find GD library or ImageMagick; image thumbnailing disabled.
Installation directory: /Library/WebServer/Documents/wiki
Script URI path: /wiki
Environment checked. You can install MediaWiki.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,

In an effort to figure out how templates work on mediawiki, I copied the
source from Wikipedia's "Sacramento, California" page, and then installed
the "Infobox_City" template on my Wiki.
I installed ParserFunctions.php. When I look at my "Sacramento, California"
page in edit mode, under the "Templates used on this page" section, here is
the first template listed:
Template:!
I trace this back to the template "Infobox_City", where there are lots of
operators like this:
{{!}}
... which, I am guessing, are being interpreted as template declarations.
Can someone set me on the right track on how to get my wiki to parse these
{{!}} operators properly?
Thanks,
Charlie

And after this I had to install MediaWiki again.
What could get wrong on my installation?
Perhaps someone could help me, please...
Thanks a lot...
