Hello,
Does MW have out-of-box feature for WikiSysop to
remove a user account?
If not, what happen if I manually remove a user
account? Many dead links?
non-functioning system?
I am not sure whether other people have noticed that
there are NO reference constraints
to the user table from other MW tables. User accounts
are stored in the user table.
Anybody knows why MW development team did NOT create
references to user
table? Obviously, many other tables have user
information such as user_id, but
why no database reference constraints to enforce data
integrity?
Any info is really appreciated.
Thanks, David

We are using wiki's in an educational setting for class work. An
instructor is looking for a way to create pages for each student which
would list all their edits to the contents of the wiki. Is there an
easy way to do this?
If I recall, it is possible to get an rss feed of recent changes by
user? But, I havn't seen any way to create a page which would show these.
Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

I have a small wiki, very small user base. I have set up user name and
password requirement to view and read most of the wiki.
I have one user who is having issues logging into the wiki after many
month without issue.
The only odd thing I have found on the server side so far is repeating
log entree in /var/log/httpd/error
[Mon Sep 04 14:20:39 2006] [error] [client 192.168.1.10] File does not
exist: /var/www/wiki/User:Joe, referer:
http://wiki.example.com/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&action=submitlogi…
I don't quit understand why it is looking for /var/www/wiki/User:Joe
and not /var/www/wiki/index.php/User:Joe
any input is much appreciated thanks
Kasimir - That helps. I think I understand how to write my htaccess file.
However, I still can't figure out how to do the character translation.
Where do I look for the right translation code table? Sorry if I'm being
thick about this, but I've looked up Unicode and a half-dozen other tables
and I can't figure out what I'm missing. In other words... in what table
does %2528 translate to a "(", etc.?

Better yet, if you KNOW you have dynamic content -- as in an
extension -- you can add page-cache-nullifying PHP code to the
extension itself. If you can't find it by searching the archives, let
me know, and I'll try to dig it up for you. I verified it with a
"fortune" extension that runs the UNIX fortune(1) program each time
the extension is invoked.

Okay, I'm scratching my head over this one; hope one of you can help out.
So, this weekend, I upgraded my wiki and moved it up one directory level in
my domain. The new wiki works perfectly, and I placed a 301 redirect to
route any requests to the old wiki directory (/wiki/) to the base level of
the domain. This works fine except when redirecting page titles with
accents.
So, for example, I have the link:
http://thelouvertureproject.org/index.php?title=Sanite_Bélair
... which works fine. (This page is also redirected from a page title
without accents. That page title without accents redirects properly.)
Google still has the old link:
http://www.thelouvertureproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Sanite_Bélair
... when clicked, that link is transformed to:
http://thelouvertureproject.org/index.php?title=Sanite_B%25C3%25A9lair
... and I get a "Bad Title" error page. (Which you can also see if you paste
the link above into your browser.)
I'm out of my depth here and my searches for help aren't turning up
anything, which tells me I don't even know what I'm looking for to fix. Can
anyone help me figure this out? Or, as this wiki doesn't have a ton of
Google juice, am I better off waiting for the links to be re-indexed?

Hello :-)
I just notice a somewhat curious feature, I would like to
know if this is the default behavior or if it's given by
some local (that is on this special wiki) setup.
I have on my page several 'dynamic' links like
{{Special:Recentchanges/5}}
When I'm logged these links displays what they are supposed
to :-) (five lines of the recent change special page)
When I'm _not_ (yet) logged in, I see the page in the state
it was the last time I _edited_ the page (the recent changes
of one month ago, for example). This is a problem for people
that watch the page without loggin, they don't know they are
more recent things :-)
so, somewhere, the page is cached at edit time
any comment?
thanks

So I got the software up and running, but now I can't delete pages
I've created. (I am on an admin account.) I get the following trace;
it sounds like it won't delete because of referential integrity,
etc., with the "Recent changes" page. Surely pages are deleted right
after they are created all the time. This should not be an issue,
should it? Regardless, how can I fix it?
Thanks,
David
Hi, there is something that I've not understood. How can I import my data on mysql wiki database? I mean, I want to try to migrate from my webapp to a wiki but having already data (in XML format) I'd like to have the possibility to export data from my db and import on wiki db. Is it possibile? And how? Thanks a lot, Beniamino
