I'm trying to update from 1.3.x to 1.4. I've unpacked the tar file
over my 1.3 install which is in /var/www/html/wiki
when I cd to /var/www/html/wiki/maintenance and run php update.php I get:
-----
[rick@frodo maintenance]$ php update.php
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.2.2
Content-type: text/html
<br />
<b>Warning</b>: The argument needs to be an array in
<b>/var/www/html/wiki/maintenance/commandLine.inc</b> on line
<b>26</b><br />
<br />
<b>Warning</b>: Variable passed to reset() is not an array or object
in <b>/var/www/html/wiki/maintenance/commandLine.inc</b> on line
<b>33</b><br />
A copy of your installation's LocalSettings.php
must exist in the source directory.
---
My LocalSettings.php is in the ../wiki directory. I created an
AdminSettings.php file with the db user and password, but I don't
think I'm getting that far.
Does update.php need some undocumented arguments?
HELP!!!!!
I am looking to edit the link parsing code in MediaWiki. I would like
[[Define:Something]] to create a mouse-over popup link message with the
text contained on "Define:Something", and when you click it, it takes
you to the Edit Article page for [[Define:Something]].
I have looked at the code contained in Parser.php, and I noticed that
Image is a namespace:
if ( $ns == NS_IMAGE )
I know that I could make 'Define' a namespace, but how would I go about
making the namespace and customizing its code?

What is raw mode? I Google but find nothing useful...

I can approve this. I'm still using Latin1 in my wiki, so I thought that
was the problem, but converting the LanguageDe.php to ISO-8859-1 didn't
helped. I finally fixed it by replacing ä by ä.
However this seems to be a bug since there is the correct spelling in
the MediaWiki namespace.

Alex

It must also be readable...the test is:
if ( ! is_readable( $settingsFile ) ) {
print "A copy of your installation's
LocalSettings.php\n" .
"must exist in the source directory.\n";
exit();
}

A copy of LocalSettings.php must exist in /var/www/html/wiki
in your case.

Hello all, I have a problem with MediaWiki running on Apache 2.0 on
FreeBSD 5.2.1. Whenever I goto my server's page //server/mediawiki it
always forwards me to the server's FQDN
(server.pharag.biz/mediawiki/index.php) and will refuse to work
otherwise. This only happens with MediaWiki and I can't seem to figure
out why only MediaWiki forces the usage of the server's local FQDN. Any
ideas? I can provide further information if need be. Thank you!
hi,
i searched the web on how to set up mediawiki multilanguage site. but
the only thing i could find was "use a dedicated database scheme per
language".
what would be the best strategy to have the mediawiki installed once,
and use it for en.site.com and fr.site.com?
solo.
