Before we do that, let's make Signpost delivery a notification (i.e. instead of
dropping it on your talk page, just notify you when a new edition is released). Then
it's quite easy to opt everyone in, new or existing.
+1 excellent idea

I have a vague recollection of discussing this before with someone (Steven?)
I'd love to see this done, but one caveat - since it effectively means
a weekly message to them, some clear way to unsubscribe would be
needed, preferably without the technically complex solution of "edit
this page, find your username, remove it".
Thinking ahead...
There's around a dozen projects both on enwiki and elsewhere that have
active newsletters, as well - the most obvious is the research
newsletter, but This Month In GLAM, some wikiproject-specific
newsletters, etc etc. A single easy way to sign up for more than one
of these, plus other opt-in messaging services like SuggestBot, would
be very nice.
For more advanced users, if we had such an interface, you could add
features like the randomised RFC recruitment feature.
But starting with the Signpost sounds great :-). I recommend you talk
to Ed (user:the_ed17) ASAP if you're interested in pushing ahead with
something like this.
Andrew.

Hi Andrew, you may be thinking of Flow. I have seen a reference to Flow handling
newsletters. We don't need Ed's permission to distribute the Signpost but I agree
that an opt-out option should be included in the notification in a way that's easy for
the user to select so that the Signpost's talk pages aren't flooded with opt-out
requests.
Steven, that's a great idea for wider visibility. Can you talk to the right people to
implement this notification, along with an opt-out feature, forward compatibility with
Flow, and the capacity to add other newsletters such as Kurier or This Month in GLAM on
any wiki that uses Echo?
