New subject: Rector gives support to Czech Education Program

Hello everyone,

rector of Charles University, His Magnificence Vaclav Hampl, gave his official support to
Czech education program "Students Write Wikipedia" (Studenti píší Wikipedii). We
hope that this will improve the recognition of our project but also of whole Wikimedia
movement in the academic environment. Professor Hampl thanked to all cooperating teachers
and to members of Wikimedia Czech Republic and stated: "The mission of whole academia
- students included - is to care for the education of the whole society. Wikipedia is one
of the ways to fulfill this mission."

Charles University is the largest university in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1348, it is
also the oldest university in Central Europe.
