Julien Dorra and I are starting to work on a template for MediaWiki
related presentations. This template will be used for the slides to be
shown at FOSDEM (hopefully, if we get a session accepted), and can be
used by others as well.
Before making hard choices with technology selections there is a
question we want to solve: how to make slides easy to update and localize?
This is the MediaWiki community (including Wikimedia tech), therefore it
makes sense to wonder whether a MediaWiki platform wit a Translate
extension and/or a plug to
https://translatewiki.net/ could help here...
But even if that backend would work, how to go from strings translated
and updated via wiki to a final and nice-looking PDF or HTML based
presentation?
Your ideas welcome at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Events/FOSDEM/2013_-_DevRoom_-_Qgil#How_…
(short URL in case it breaks:
http://bit.ly/TaWeQK )
or here, of course.
If you want to get involved in the production of this template and the
slides, in that URL you can find the other topics we are discussing
right now.
