At tonight's meeting, many were surprised to see that some of our members
had never read Wikizine! We then started talking a "must-read" page for new
members to ComProj that includes important Communications information. What
do you guys think?

Dear guys,
I hope you don’t mind this approach. Rather than contributing to separate
elists, I’ve put a message on a bulletin board hosted at OCLC. They’re the
largest non profit for librarians in the world. They also have a tool – the
Dewey Decimal Code – which could help wikimedians associate their content
with their projects (and communications).
I’ve started a thread and offered a poll if you’d like to offer an opinion.

So far as a little background on me. I’m a fifty something who has worked in
media for a lot a years and would like to help by getting a bunch of
sponsors on board the wiki train – both for the conference and also for the
equipment which supports wikimediafoundation (non profit) stuff.
I also have a bunch of mates who have run conferences for Rotarians in the
past E.g. 64,000 in Chicago a few years ago.
My best regards,
Simon Fenton - Jones

Hi all,
I went through and added templates to all of the projects listed at
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Communication_Projects_Group/Projects (I
think).
I went through and divided them into two groups - one that had someone
"assigned", and one
group without any assigned CPG member.
>From what I can tell, a few projects overlap, and I'm not sure on the
current status of some of
these projects. If you know something about any of these projects, feel free
to update the template
directly or drop me a note and I'll update the project.
Side note to Greeves: I had to roll back your addition of DPL's, either the
template isn't all up to snuff
or somthing I did causes most of the projects to be not listed. Once that is
fixed, we'll switch the DPL back
on.
Thanks,
Gerald.
Hello everyone! I'm sure that many of you have seen me
shadowing some of the ComProj meetings, so I figured that
I should go ahead and join the team.
Firstly, my name is Thunderhead. I am a recently-promoted
administrator on Meta-Wikimedia, and an administrator on the
English Wikinews (which recently reached 10,000 articles). I have
recently been trying to become more involved in Foundation level
activities, and ComProj seems like a good place to start (I know that
this isn't an "official" group). I also hope to begin attending more of the
ComProj meetings. I'll be happy to lead any groups, if needed, just let
me know.
Many thanks, and have an excellent Wikiday (and a real one too)!

I think it would be very benifitial to ComProj to be involved
with the Wikimedia Foundation's Fall 2007 Fundraiser. Members
of ComProj could always be used to help with translations, to
communicate results and updates with local communities, and to
work with the Fundraising team to help with other things that
they need done. Would anyone be willing to work with me on
this?

As most of you guys already know, we are asking the community to design
buttons for the projects. The buttons will be placed on different
websites, blogs, etc....as a way for people to show their support for us.
Some examples have been created, and it would be great if we could get
some more :)

Right now, the logo on the project banner is the Wikipedia Contact Us logo.
I don't think that our logo should include the Wikipedia logo unless we
include the logos for other projects. Any thoughts on what a new logo could
be? My first though was to do it like Wikimedia Chapters, (like the
Wikimedia Foundation logo, but replacing "Foundation" with "Communication
Projects Group" spaced out on two lines) but would that be seen as too
official?

I have listed myself as a potential project manager. Now, how would this
system work? Would I just add my name to any projects I wish to manage? Or
would it be voted on at a meeting? Or would it be discussed among those
interested in the project?
